Abstract Summary
Our laboratory has discovered a mouse model that has a congenital urinary tract defect known as vesicoureteric reflux. In this grant, we will use this mouse model to understand the genetic basis of vesicoureteric reflux and to elucidate the mechanism by which the ureter fails to insert correctly into the bladder wall. In the final aim of this grant, we will determine whether the gene (s) that are mutated in this mouse model are associated with vesicoureteric reflux in humans.
