Abstract Summary
Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease that involves inflammation of the joints, tendons, and periarticular structures. It can lead to reduced quality of life and functional limitations. For some patients, it can lead to joint destruction, severe disability, and disfigurement. There are several treatments available for rheumatoid arthritis, and treatment options are constantly increasing. Basing recommendations for treatment on the most up-to-date information that compares all treatment options is important for good patient care. We will create a novel approach for identifying and constantly updating and including new information on treatment for rheumatoid arthritis as it becomes available. This information will be included in an assessment analysis that will compare each treatment to all others. This will provide insight as to which treatment is most beneficial or harmful to inform discussions between patients and clinicians. In particular, we will identify the best treatment for the different types of patients with rheumatoid arthritis based on previous treatment history.
