Abstract Summary
This fellowship is supported by the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education (OISE) where the Fellow is pursuing their PhD, and the health system organization, WIHV (Women's College Hospital Institute for Health Systems Solutions and Virtual Care). OISE is a leader in graduate education and research, and WIHV is dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare for a healthier, more equitable world. Within WIHV is the Office of Spread and Scale (OSS) which amplifies successful models of care and innovative programs. As a member of the OSS, the Fellow will put research into practice through the delivery of implementation-science-informed coaching and consulting to support spread and scaling of programs. Specific involvement with two projects will provide a depth of understanding of work underway at a national level. The first, the SPOR CHILD-BRIGHT (CB) Network, represents a well-established program already delivered at the national level. Within the CB program, the Fellow will support the development and delivery of webinars and workshops, and present on lessons learned to advance training across the CB Network. The second project is with the Canadian Pediatric Endocrine Group (CPEG) as they plan the initial development of a national campaign for prevention of Diabetic ketoacidosis prior to diagnosis in children. In supporting the CPEG, the Fellow will conduct consultation sessions with relevant stakeholders and present findings to inform intervention design in planning for national scale. The Fellow will engage in both projects on spread, scale, and sustainability of their health services interventions. In supporting these projects, the Fellow will deliver successful coaching sessions and discussion groups, contribute to ongoing grant applications and academic publications, and engage with health system programs and stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of spread and scale from conceptualization to implementation.
