Abstract Summary
Poor mental health is the number one healthcare issue facing young Canadians, yet evidence shows that young people's needs are not being met within existing systems. A new Centre for Youth Mental Health Service Innovation, Research and Training is currently being established in Montreal. My fellowship aims to build a robust strategic framework to support the integration and innovation of youth community programs, specialized psychiatric services, and clinical research initiatives within the CIUSSS de l'Ouest de l'île de Montréal. My work includes meaningful engagement with stakeholders such clinicians, managers, researchers, youth, and caregivers. In addition, the project involves a thorough environmental analysis to identify goals, needs, resources, and challenges. Ultimately, the fellowship will establish a clear vision, mission, and strategic priorities for the new Centre, positioning it to produce significant improvements in mental health care for young people.
